In the previous episode: Sookie away from Bon Temps leaving Eric and Bill tried to charm them in human society. Sam bonds with other shifters, while Hoyt and Jessica argue about dinner. Sookie and Bill Part Ways: Sookie's mad at Bill for his treatment of a police officer (see

True Blood Episode 4) and as a result, Bill told Sookie he will not call him again. Sookie feels uncertain about her feelings for him: he was attracted to him because he is different (and he's different) but he also feared a lack of humanity.

When he talks About Has: Sookie's grandmother, a member of Descendants of the Dead General, inviting him to speak to the group and told them about his experiences during the Civil War. He told them a great story about a young soldier who was wounded in the field who continue to cry for help. Unfortunately, the soldier falls in places that are not protected and the troops he was reluctant to attempt a rescue. Shouts a young soldier was so horrible and heartwrenching that Bill's best friend decided to have a get him. Unfortunately, his friend killed in the attempt. The troops finally rescued after dark but he died several hours later. One audience member shows Bill Compton family photos. Although the Bill does not remember posing for a photo he was very touched by it. HINT: Remember this scene - it will be important in future episodes!

In this episode of his humanity Lafayette Showing: No, this is not what you think - get your mind out of the gutter! Here's what happened: three troublemakers who attend Bill's speech on the Civil War ended in Merlotte's house, a local bar. Still itching for a fight, they began to criticize the cook Lafayette, accusing him of giving them a burger AIDS. They became so noisy about foods that Lafayette left the kitchen and confronted them.

How to Become a Vampire When Bill: Bill remembers how, after the war, he wanders through the woods to find food and come on a woman in the cabin. He invites her and graceful feed and tend to him. She tells him that he was convinced that her husband died in the war and then began to make a pass at Bill. She scolded him, saying that he was on his way home to see his wife and 2 children. Bill turns to leave and attacked by a woman.
